Clifford and I grew up together and were locker mates at Addison for three years. We then had a lot of fun in college--he was at Norfolk State and I was at Virginia State. I just saw the photo of us together at our 40th class reunion. I had never seen before. He was a very good friend - -and once (when I was a little "out there) told me I needed to slow down and take better care of myself.
That always meant a lot to me (I actually took his advice!!) and I used to thank him for the expression of concern. He could be brutally frank but that was the way he expressed himself. I will miss his candor and friendship.
